EXECUTIVE BOARD

 

President- Julie McRee

            The President is the chief executive of the Association and shall, subject to the control of the Board of Directors, have general supervision, direction and control of the business and affairs of the corporation.  He/ She shall preside at all membership meetings and all committees except the nomination committee. He/ She shall have the power to appoint such committees as necessary. He/ She shall have one vote only in case of a tie.  The President or his duly appointed representative shall attend all Pop Warner Football conference meetings.  The president shall also be liaison to the city parks department and the public school system, whichever is necessary.

Vice President- Mike Austin

            In the absence of the President, the Executive Vice President shall perform all the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all the powers and perform such duties as from time to time may be prescribed for him/ her by the President, or Board of Directors. In case of vacancy in the Office of President, the Executive Vice President shall automatically succeed to that office and serve for the un-expired term to disburse funds.  The Executive Vice President shall head the board meetings when necessary; conduct an annual review of field locations .

League Secretary- Nicole Bonita

            The Secretary shall keep or cause to be kept a book of minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors.  The Secretary shall keep or cause to be kept a register showing the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all the Directors and members.  The Secretary shall be the custodian of the by-laws of the Association and shall have said by-laws present at each meeting. The Secretary shall conduct the correspondence of the Association.  The Secretary, upon receipt of any correspondence communication or other material, shall notify the President and route the material as directed. During the season the secretary is responsible for overseeing the weekly board schedule and ensuring the games are covered and teams are assigned to snack bar and gate duty. The league secretary is responsible for overseeing the Scholarship applications and ensuring that families volunteer accordingly.

League Treasurer-Lien Lin

            The treasurer shall maintain adequate and correct accounts of the business transactions of this Association. The treasurer shall promptly deposit all monies and other valuables in the name of and to the credit of the Association with such depositories as shall be designated by the Board of Directors.  The Treasurer shall disburse the funds of this Association in such a manner as may be ordered by the Board of Officers and account for all transactions as Treasurer. The Treasurer shall present a financial statement at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following receipt of the monthly bank statements. All accounts shall be balanced and reconciled and copies of each made available for each Board member present.  An auditing committee, appointed by the President, shall audit the financial records and all Association property and shall present their report at the first meeting in February of each year.  All checks drawn on this Association shall have two signatures as designated by the Board of Directors. The treasurer shall create an annual financial budget and present to the board in March of each year. All disbursements exceeding three hundred fifty dollars must have prior approval by the Board.

Player/Coach Coordinator- Jerry Cannon

            Maintains a strong understanding of Football Operation requirements of Pop Warner. Leads and oversees all SVPW football operations in line with Pop Warner requirements.  Leads the Coaches selection process, observes and manages coaching performance and reinforces coach’s commitment to supporting the league and its players. Ensures all field operations, uniforms and equipment are in line with Pop Warner and Saddleback Valley requirements, best practices and safety standards.  Player Coach Rep, handles all  concerns that come in from parents in regard to things they may feel warrant a Board Members involvement. This could be complaints about a coach, an incident that happened on a Game Day or a practice evening  he/she is supposed to be the first point of contact in those situations. If he feels the situation warrants executive involvement, we meet to discuss things like disciplinary actions, etc.

Cheer Coordinator-Whitney Barro

            The Cheer Coordinator is responsible for pre- registration, registration, correction and notification of cognizant Association and Conference personnel for cheerleaders following procedures set forth by the Board of Palomar Pop Warner Conference.  The VP of Cheer will further call for and receive all applications for Cheer Advisor and Assistants.  The VP of Cheer shall be responsible for the recruitment, training and coordination of cheer coaches and cheerleaders and shall disseminate information to the cheer coaches.

DIRECTORS

 Team Parent Coordinator- Priscilla Carrasco

The Team Parent Coordinator shall act as liaison between the Board and Team Moms, relaying all items of concern and information between these two parties. The coordinator is responsible for overseeing opening day events and coordination of team photos. Team parent coordinator is responsible for handling all trophy ordering and distribution to all teams below the Mitey Mite level (non-playoff teams).

 

Player Safety Coordinator- Christian Chee

            The safety coordinator will assist the Executive Board in coordination, maintaining and executing the association’s safety policy. He or She will be responsible for ensuring the safety of each member of the association. He or She will acquire and distribute a First Aid Kit, approved by the Executive Board, to each team and have readily available at each event, a safety and emergency plan, and any special needs requirements. Schedule, monitor and ensure Red Cross training and certification for each Head Coach, team designated First Aid volunteer and all Executive Board members. He or she will be the liaison between the teams and the board for insurance claims and policy coordination. In the event of an emergency or the need of a doctor’s care, the safety coordinator will provide those involved with proper documents.

Equipment Coordinators-Mark Sanger & Tim Bonita

            The Equipment Manager shall be responsible for selecting, purchasing, and disbursing all Association property as directed by the Board.  The Equipment Manager shall inventory all equipment and property of the Association at the close of the playing season and report to the Board in January of each year.  The equipment manager shall advise the Head Coaches and team equipment managers on the proper care, maintenance, and use of all uniforms and equipment and report any violations of his instructions to the Board.

Sponsorship & Fundraiser Coordinator- Open Position

            Plans, facilitates and executes fundraising initiatives for the league in a continued effort to meet and exceed our fundraising goal as outlined in our budget.  Looks for out of the box and creative opportunities, always looking for ways to reach the community and benefit our participants.  Submits requests to existing Sponsors, seeks out new Sponsors and ensures Sponsors are appropriately recognized and appreciated for their contributions. 

Registration Coordinator-Angie Tindall

Participates in and leads planning, organizing and facilitating Football and Cheer registrations for the season.  Recruits and leads a registrations support team. Manages and organizes registrations forms and books.  Partners with the treasurer to execute safe money handing practices and provides monthly registrations reports to the Board. Supports Teams with new registration requirements after the season registration events.

Little Scholars-Angie Tindall

            The Little Scholar’s Representative shall be responsible for the collection of all report cards and filling out any and all forms necessary for the Little Scholars Program.  Little Scholar Representative shall be responsible for recognition at the Association level.

Members at Large- Tim Bonita, Brian Carpenter, Marie Morales, Sager Marshall, Heather Coons, Geoff Poer

            This role is intended to introduce individuals to our board and provide an opportunity to learn the various positions. This is also a great starting point for anyone who is passionate about wanting to support our league and wants to have a positive influence.  The general board member agrees to take initiative and seek opportunities to support the league wherever there is a need.  This may include (and is not limited to) assisting at a fundraiser event, cleaning equipment, helping in concessions, assisting with field clean up, or filing registration forms.
